Industry man
August 15, 2008
Hey, big news! As a few of you already know, I’ve been hired by Harmonix Music Systems. I start Monday.
I imagine I’ll be pressed for time, especially at first, but Cruise Elroy will live on. In the interests of objectivity and keeping my job, though, I probably won’t be talking about Rock Band 2 in much detail. Even so, I hope to bring a fresh perspective by seeing game development from the inside.
My sincere thanks goes out to everyone who reads and supports the site. I doubt I would be here without you.

Congratulations! I suppose we can put up with a reduced schedule… just be sure to put up that Gerudo Valley post.

Congratulations! It’s heartening to know that someone as intelligent and thoughtful as you can still make it into the industry.

Wow, congrats! I didn’t realize you were into music games. (Though I did know you were into music, games.)

Thanks so much, everyone. As I quipped on Twitter, I don’t know what I can say about Harmonix other than “it’s awesome” — both because I’m at a loss for words, and because I don’t want to overstep the NDA. :-)
Things will probably be slow here for a bit while I get my bearings, but I’m not going anywhere! Your support means a lot to me.

congrats Dan,
Harmonix is by any measure a great company, and also a good one to work for.
